Japanese Brass Incense Burner This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass incense burner (koro ) commonly used in Buddhist altars. It is a very small, simple cup shape with a gold color that is decorated with engraved lines around the outside, perfect for smaller home altars. It is used for burning incense powder or sticks. Burning incense is a means of purifying the body of the worshiper.
